About Us

The College of Arts and Sports (CAS) is one of seven Colleges/Faculties under the University of The Nations (UofN), the training arm of Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Our mission’s goal is to “Know God and Make Him Known” throughout the world, using every means and tool possible. Art is one of those tools. The UofN offers future missionaries the opportunity to recognise and develop their call, to train and learn the skills needed to use that call to share the Gospel with the global community. All student accredited courses accumulate credits towards degrees in their chosen artistic field. We offer schools, seminars, internships and outreaches in a wide variety of artistic disciplines, enabling students to reach their potential and fulfil their call in the world of art. We welcome students from all nations, and give them opportunities go to all nations.

The arts are among the greatest influences of any culture. Where there is man, there is culture and there is creativity and art. Without a doubt, man’s desire to create is a natural response of being created in the image of God-the Creator. In the beginning God gave the mandate to Adam and Eve to subdue the earth as creative stewards, and indeed, since that time, whether for better or worse, man has designed his dwellings, cities and nations with creative pursuits.  Every good and perfect gift is given by the Father and mans propensity to create artistically is one of those gifts.

A major foundational value in YWAM is that there is no separation of secular and sacred.  What we mean by that is that it is equally pleasing to God when we spend our life as a business man demonstrating Godly integrity, or a teacher planting truth in young hearts, or a dancer or fine artist demonstrating beauty and creativity  – as it is to serve full time in the church or as a missionary.  There is no area of life that God did not create nor which he does not want to saturate with His presence.  The ‘seven spheres’ of society is an outgrowth of this philosophy.

The arts are many times referred to as ‘Celebration’ sphere of society and as such are combined with sports and large events of all kinds.  So our College of Arts has recently become the College of Arts and Sports.  We look forward to working with our athletic brothers and sisters in creating many opportunities for Celebration of who He is and what he desires to accomplish in every sphere of society.

Have you ever been impacted while simply viewing a magnificent piece of art?  Has your soul been touched as you’ve listened to a majestic musical work? Has a film or the theater so gripped you by it’s story and artistry that you’ve been deeply affected?

Throughout the ages art has defined who we are individually and as a society. The Lord– the most creative artist in all of history– uses art to reveal Himself to humanity. He calls to us through it’s beauty and changes us through it’s revelation. Thus, it is vitally important that artists fulfill their calling with strong conviction and a mantle of excellence, while being connected to The Creator.

Each new generation yearns to fulfill their destiny. Whether we know it or not, our Creator has put a burning desire in each of us to give our all for a greater, eternal cause. People want to make a difference! Youth With A Mission’s (YWAM) College of Arts and Sports (CAS) is here to support, train and equip each unique artist to fulfil their life purpose. We provide a live-learn environment where students have access to staff and leaders in cross-cultural environments; where you will experience the reality and presence of Jesus in your life.

One of YWAM’s foundational principles is that of sharing the love and the life of Jesus with those who don’t yet know Him.  We train our students in their chosen artistic discipline to attain a level of excellence that will touch their audience both with their artistic skill and the love of Jesus. If you are enabled to make a difference  amongst other professional artists; to teach arts cross-culturally; or work amongst the poor and needy; it is our prayer and goal to help you use your abilities to instill eternal hope in our world while helping you reach your God-given destiny.

Pacific & Asia Christian University (PACU) was founded in 1978 in Kona, Hawaii, USA. It was founded to train students in ministering the love of Christ and teaching others according to the command of Christ to make disciples of all nations, in all spheres of society. A development guide was written to create seven colleges and several multidisciplinary centres that would develop schools, seminars, and other training modules in these subject areas. A master plan for the campus was prepared by a team of planners and architects who carefully considered the best environment for implementing the founding principles of the university.

Schools were developed rapidly in many nations and on six continents. Many of these schools were linked with PACU. However, the regional and local names no longer reflected the worldwide scope and unity of the various higher education activities. The Board of Regents unanimously adopted the new name, University of the Nations (UofN), at their meeting in 1988. The name change took place officially on June 2, 1989.

The UofN is unique in its international missionary training scope with school locations in 160 nations and at 600 locations on all continents. Because national accrediting agencies have major differences in their systems, the UofN has not, at present, applied for any one nation’s accreditation.

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), we unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.

Back when we began in 1960, our main focus was to get youth involved in missions. Today, we still focus on youth, and we also involve people aged 9 to 90. We currently work in more than 1,100 locations in over 180 countries, with a staff of over 18,000.
