As an important part of the renewal of culture, visual artists are taking the raw material of human experiences, human memories and human possibilities to convey them onto a canvas, fabric, a piece of clay or a wall in the city for the flourishing of human beings and human community.

From the crayon scribbles of a young child to the marble sculpture of a master, what is in the heart and mind of the artist is now on display for all to see and helps give our lives meaning. There are principles and skills that shape the piece to more accurately portray what the artist intended, but visual arts should remain first and foremost an act of personal expression and creativity.
